Nirbi Mains Power Failure Detector is a professional quality power outage detector made in France. It is designed to monitor single-phase 230V – 50Hz European electrical networks.
- In the event of an outage, it immediately sends an SMS and/or makes a phone call to the contacts (1 to 5).
- If mains voltage is restored, it sends a new SMS and/or makes a new phone call to the contacts.
- At any time, you can query the detector by SMS to know its status.
Innovative technology based on supercapacitors eliminates any battery maintenance. The device accumulates energy while the mains is present and uses it during outages to send SMS and calls.
Its 2G, 3G and 4G compatibility makes it a long-lasting product because it is capable of using the mobile networks of yesterday and today, thus maximising signal reception.
This product is ideal for monitoring the sector supplying freezers, cold rooms, generators, boiler rooms, electrical panels, lift pumps, second homes, computer rooms, etc.
Finally, the care given to the radio part of the product and its antenna ensures a remarkable range of several kilometers, much greater than that of a smartphone.
Installation and start-up:
- Insert a nano format SIM card into the detector, having first taken care to deactivate the PIN code request. A minimalist voice + SMS package is sufficient.
- Plug the detector into a standard AC outlet connected to the electrical circuit to be monitored.
- The mains presence indicator will flash green for approximately 6 minutes: the device is building up a reserve of energy stored in its supercapacitors.
- When the green light turns steady, the detector has completed energy storage and becomes operational.
- Configure the phone numbers to contact in case of emergency by sending an SMS to the detector (see user manual). One to five contacts are configurable with the choice of sending an SMS and/or phone call.
- If you wish, you can enter an identifier which will appear in the SMS and which will allow recipients of the alerts to process them more easily. Example of identifier: LIFT PUMP.
- If you wish, you can enter a geolocation (latitude and longitude) which will appear in the SMS in a clickable Google Maps link and which will allow recipients of the alerts to process them more easily.
- If you wish, you can lock the settings to protect the device from malicious configuration.
- Finally, the detector can also be configured to use English as the language for SMS and phone calls.
Alerts:
The conditions for triggering an alert to previously configured contacts are:
- a power outage of more than 100 ms (5 periods at 50 Hz) triggers a power outage alert. The text of the SMS sent to the contacts is: NIRBI POWER FAILURE DETECTOR Power outage on xx/xx/20xx xx:xx:xx. The phone message for calls is Hello. You are in communication with a Nirbi power outage detector. I detected a power outage. Bye.
- a mains recovery without interruption for at least 10 seconds (500 periods at 50 Hz) triggers a power restoration alert. The text of the SMS sent to the contacts is: NIRBI POWER FAILURE DETECTOR Mains restoration on xx/xx/20xx xx:xx:xx. The phone message for calls is Hello. You are in communication with a Nirbi power outage detector. I detected a recovery of the sector. Bye.
